Democratic U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin is reacting to some senate Republicans accusing Democrats of obstructing the appointment of Trump Administration judges.
It’s sometimes called “the nuclear option” and it limits debate time in the senate.
Baldwin is calling the accusation is ironic. She says Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell obstructed a Supreme Court nomination by former President Barrack Obama for about a year.
Baldwin thinks there needs to be enough time for senate members to look into the qualifications, character, and independence of nominees.
