Some members of the Green Bay basketball community are looking back on their time with Tony Bennett.
He’s now the head coach for the Virginia Cavaliers. Bennett started his career at Preble High School. His team went to the state tournament in 1988 and he was named the state player of the year.
Athletic Director Dan Retzki says his legacy is still strong at the school. He says Bennett’s values are rooted in how he handles his team, and they’re proud he’s an alumni.
Bennett went on to play at UW-Green Bay where his father Dick was the head coach. He lead the Cavaliers to their first NCAA tournament championship game last night.
