After four years, organizers of a Kaukauna music festival are cancelling the event.
The Electric City Experience started in 2015 as a one-day celebration of the city’s 225th birthday. Last year, it became a five-day event with outdoor stages.
Organizer Jason Lipsky says they couldn’t keep up with rising costs, and the need for volunteers. He says since they’re outside now, they’re also relying on having nice weather for five straight days.
When the festival first started, organizers partnered with bars to have indoor venues. They moved outside to make it more family-friendly.
