The author of this year’s Fox Cities Reads book is in the area to talk about it.
“Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City” focuses on people in Milwaukee.
Author Matthew Desmond is speaking at Menasha High School at 6:30 p.m. tonight. There’s a reason he picked Milwaukee instead of a bigger place. He says it reveals the experience that is also present in other cities across the country.
Desmond will also talk about the book at Lawrence Memorial Chapel in Appleton at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
