A new design for a pool in De Pere is causing some concerns.
Voters in the community passed a referendum to spend money to redesign Legion and VFW pools. The community also weighed in on what each pool should look like.
There’s concern because the park board made some changes to Legion Pool.
Alderman Jonathon Hansen says now there’s only a tot area and lap pool.
He says there’s nothing for older kids, teens, or even adults who don’t want to be in the lap area.
Hansen says there’s no real budget to build the pools so he’s going to recommend the council come up with one.
He says that way the park board can design pools based on how much money they have.
