Appleton police are launching a new map to let people track crimes in the city.
Officer Meghan Cash says they’re working with an online program called Community Dashboard. People can click on several crime categories, and the locations will show up a map.
Cash says they’re going to upload the data every day, around 3 a.m., so the website is a way to look at incidents within a day, or from a historical perspective.
When people click on a specific incident, information pops up. It includes the location within one city block, the time of the call, and an incident number.
You can get to the map through the police department’s website.
