The owner of a bar between Oshkosh and Neenah has a deal with the DOT to close around the end of the month.
The state is buying the Bee Hive Inn at Highways 76 and G because a roundabout will be going in this summer.
Owner Angie Dorton wanted to stay open through Lent because it’s busy for Friday fish fries. She says their last day will be April 28th and they have to be out by May 1st. She says she’s OK with how things ended.
Dorton is building a new bar next door. She hopes they can open on June 1st but she admits that’s optimistic. She says it will depend on the weather because there’s site work to do.
