There’s a call for victims of sexual assault to tell their story.
The Brown County District Attorney, police, and the Sexual Assault Center are putting out the plea.
Tana Koss is with the center. She says it’s never the victim’s fault, and it’s never too late to start the journey to healing.
Green Bay Police Chief Andrew Smith says the only way they’re going to be able to stop sexual assault is to catch people and hold them accountable.
District Attorney David Lasee says for child victims the statute of limitations for criminal charges doesn’t generally run out until the victim’s 45th birthday. The timeline for adult victims is typically within 10 years.
