No people were hurt but one cat died in a house fire in downtown Appleton last night.
Officials say there’s significant damage to the kitchen and heat and smoke damage to other areas of the home in the 500 block of North Bateman Street.
Crews searched the home for two cats and gave both oxygen and performed CPR on one.
The cats were taken to a veterinary clinic and one did not survive.
The cause is still under investigation and there isn’t a damage estimate yet.
Officials say the home did not have a smoke alarm.
The fire was called in just before 9 p.m.
