The City of Menasha plans to spend up to a half-million dollars to spruce up the new Racine Street Bridge.
The city council agreed to a number of amenities including a crash barrier wall between the street and the sidewalk. It’ll be similar to what’s in place on the College Avenue Bridge in Appleton.
Josh Radomski is Menasha’s public works director. He says there will also be a decorative railing, and there’s a recommendation for some pedestals for bridge lighting.
Radomski says they haven’t settled on a design for the actual light posts yet. A group of city officials will be meeting with the DOT to talk about different options for more amenities.
Construction is scheduled to start late next year.
