The scope of this year’s Mile of Music festival will be similar, with the return of a big venue.
Co-founder Dave Willems says they’re planning to have about 200 artists and around 950 performances, over the four-day event.
After two years, Jones Park will be back on Friday and Saturday. Willems believes that’s giving organizers a little extra bounce in their step. He says it will also be fun to see how everything shakes out, after they added or expanded some outdoor venues to compensate for the loss of the park.
He says potentially having all of those venues in the mix, it’ll be their first chance to have their whole footprint available at once.
Willems also unveiled the first 50 artists. They include 20 returnees, like Wild Adriatic and Adrian + Meredith. There are 30 new artists in the initial group.
The remaining 150 will be unveiled between now and June 1st.
The festival is from August 1st through the 4th.
