Construction crews are working to get Jones Park in downtown Appleton ready for the Mile of Music festival in August.
Appleton Parks and Recreation Director Dean Gazza says they’re putting railings along a walkway into the park. He says they’re also laying concrete pathways in other areas. He says they plan to grade the rest of the site and start planting grass next month
Festival organizers are planning to use the park on Friday and Saturday. Gazza says they want to be conservative and host music for two days instead of four. He’s trying to protect the new grass especially in case it rains.
