Some groups are getting together in Green Bay to find housing for working homeless people.
The goal is to transition them from shelters into apartments and homes.
Circles Green Bay Director Jen Schmohe thinks it can be difficult. She says some landlords have requirements like two months of rent up front, or having an income that’s worth twice as much as rent. She says’s that’s hard for someone making $10 an hour.
There’s a community forum on Monday night where people can learn about the issue and connect with resources. It’s from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Green Bay Community Church. The event is free but organizers are asking people to register.
