The DNR is reminding professional photographers to get a permit before taking pictures in state parks.
State law requires anyone collecting money for video or photos taken in state park to get one.
Paul Holton is a spokesman for the parks system. He says if someone isn’t aware of the policy, a ranger would ask them to fill out the permit and pay the fee.
The permit costs $50 and people need a separate one for each park. They also need to be filled out two weeks before the pictures are taken.
It’s been a longtime policy in Wisconsin. The DNR recently started putting up signs in the parks to remind people of the rule.
