Appleton leaders will take some more time to recommend names for more than 20 alleys throughout the city.
Most of them are in the downtown area. Staffers reached out to the Appleton Historical Society for suggestions and the plan commission is looking to hear other possibilities.
Mayor Tim Hanna wants them to have historical significance. He says it might be hard to narrow down the names. He says they’ll have to make some decisions and then have a discussion about it.
The commission will take up the ideas later next month. The city is looking for formal names for the alleys to help police, firefighters, and others find specific locations.
