The people who lived in the building that collapsed during yesterday morning’s fire in De Pere lost everything and so did the businesses housed there.
One of them is a charity that helps those with breast cancer.
Ribbon of Hope founder and president Meg Steinhardt explains the group provides financial and emotional resources for those with breast cancer in Brown, Kewaunee and Oconto counties.
She says that includes help paying medical, utility, mortgage or rent bills.
Steinhardt says the owner of the building let them stay there rent free and that allowed 97 cents of every dollar donated to the charity to go directly to those in need.
