It looks like a Seattle based company known for outdoor gear will have a new store in Grand Chute.
Officials with REI aren’t confirming it yet, but town chairman Dave Shoewalter says the company submitted plans to build a store at I-41 and Wisconsin Avenue, just north of the new WG&R building.
Schowalter calls the choice a good one. He believes they picked that area in Grand Chute because it’s a shopping Mecca.
Schowalter says there’s no timetable on construction.
He expects more details will be released in late May when the town’s plan commission is scheduled to act on the company’s proposal.
REI has over 150 stores nationwide and two in Wisconsin.
They’re located in Madison and Brookfield.
