Neenah Mayor Dean Kaufert hopes the community turns out tomorrow to help honor former state Sen. Mike Ellis.
Governor Evers will be at Neenah’s City Hall to sign a bill designating the Highway 10-441 interchange with I-41, as the Mike Ellis Memorial Interchange. Kaufert says the ceremony is at 9:15 a.m.
Kaufert believes it’s fitting that Evers will sign the bill in the city council chambers, because that’s where Ellis started his political career as a Neenah alderman. He went on to serve 44 years in the Legislature, mostly in the Senate.
Ellis was 77 when he died last July.
