A large arts center in downtown De Pere could start taking shape late next year.
The Mulva family is donating $50 million for the Mulva Cultural Center next to the roundabout at South Broadway and Wisconsin Street.
Project spokeswoman Bridget O’Connor says the three-story facility will have room for major exhibits. She says the exhibits would usually be in major metropolitan areas. She says with the financial support, they’ll be able to attract those kinds of exhibits.
O’Connor says they’ll also have spaces for performances including an auditorium. There are plans to break ground later next year and the center would open in 2022.
O’Connor was a guest on Focus Fox Valley on WHBY yesterday afternoon.
