Adopt-a-Highway crews are back out in Wisconsin this spring.
DOT spokesman Mark Kantola wants drivers to watch out for them. He says the crews make the state more beautiful, and make roads safer by taking away items that could distract drivers.
Kantola is asking drivers to slow down in areas where adopt a highway crews are working. He says volunteers aren’t allowed to set up traffic cones or barricades. He says that’s because they could get hurt while putting them out or picking them up.
