The head of the state Department of Health Services believes a proposal to accept the federal Medicaid expansion money will end up in the final state budget.
Majority Republicans on the Legislature’s budget committee are expected to remove it from their version of the plan this week.
Secretary Andrea Palm thinks they’re having productive talks with lawmakers. She says the governor is willing to put pen to paper, and the voters are with him.
Palm points to the latest poll from the Marquette University Law School. It shows about 70 percent want to take the money.
