A former Major League ballplayer is giving back to his community in a big way.
Jason Berken is unveiling plans for his new indoor sports complex in the De Pere area.
Berken says the facility is a dream come true for him, and the next logical step for him now that he’s retired from baseball. He says a facility like the one he’s proposing would’ve had a big impact on him growing up, and it’s a way to give back to the community.
The proposed Impact Sports Academy will feature an indoor baseball diamond, batting cages, and training facilities.
Berken played for the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs in a four-year Major League career.
