The domestic abuse shelter in Appleton has a new look.
Harbor House underwent an 18-month renovation, after raising $4 million.
Executive Director Beth Schnorr says they increased their capacity from 55 to 68 beds. She says they increased the number of actual bedrooms from 13 to 32, so survivors can have their own rooms. She believes that’s a big part of showing them dignity and respect.
Schnorr says they revamped the entire building and upgraded security.
A new garage gives victims of stalking a place to park that’s out of sight. It’s also a safe spot for late-night staffers to park.
