It might cost more for a parking permit for the city’s parking ramps in downtown Appleton next year.
Public Works Director Paula Vandehey is proposing to increase the monthly fee from $30 to $40. She says the higher rate would still be less than $2 a day. The daily rate is now up to $5.
Vandehey says they compared their $30 rate to other cities across the state, including Green Bay, and Appleton was the lowest.
The change would bring in an additional $250,000 a year in revenue.
The city council would have to approve the increase.
