The name of a well-known alum adorns the Alumni Welcome and Conference Center at UW-Oshkosh.
The building is now known as the “Culver Family Welcome Center” after UW-O alum Craig Culver. He looks as it as the entrance to the university, and the place to welcome people to campus. He says that’s what they’re doing at their restaurants.
Culver is paying $2 million over the next four years for the naming rights to the Welcome Center. He was in Oshkosh this morning for a re-dedication ceremony.
The building was one of the projects that the UW-Oshkosh Foundation defaulted on. Chancellor Andrew Leavitt thinks it’s a really important day to move beyond what’s happened in the past.
