Runners couldn’t compete in a full marathon in Green Bay over the weekend because of flooding.
Part of the Fox River Trail flooded, closing down a section of the Cellcom Marathon course.
Michelle Wolff of Ohio was disappointed. She says she did 18 weeks of training for the event, and will have to look for another full marathon.
The full course would have been a Boston-qualifying race. Runners could still do the half marathon.
This is the second time in the race’s 20-year history that weather impacted the event. In 2012 organizers shut it down because of heat.
