Almost two dozen veterans a day die by suicide and a local woman is hoping her efforts will make them think twice.
Cover Me Veterans founder Dr. Heidi Sigmund says since many veterans choose a gun to end their lives her goal is to distance them from their firearm.
She says they’ve teamed up with a company that creates a personal vinyl skin that covers guns.
She says most of the photo uploads are for children, partners, pets and military logos.
Sigmund believes picking up a gun with a picture of something or someone the veteran loves will help them see the reason for living.
She says the gun skins are free to veterans.
