Oshkosh is buying a stretch of land along Pioneer Drive off the south shore of the Fox River.
The city’s redevelopment authority will pay $1.5 million to Decades Properties.
Community Development Director Allen Davis says it’s part of a larger plan to revamp that area. He says the authority already owns neighboring sites. He says developers wanted a river walk, and the decades property as a part of their development.
Davis says the land deal will ensure that. The city council already agreed to buy the property. It wraps around Pioneer Drive from Main Street south to 10th Avenue.
