A proposal to name 21 alleys around Appleton after local historical figures is heading back to the city council.
The plan commission is unanimously on board with the latest recommendations.
Alderman Vered Meltzer didn’t want different names for different sections of a longer alley.
Most of the alleys are in the downtown area. Many of them would be named after early settlers in the city. The Appleton Historical Society helped put together the list.
