Members of the Oshkosh school board appear to support a plan to close Smith Elementary this summer.
The building is infested with mold and its roof needs immediate replacement.
Administrators recommend sending Smith students to Jefferson Elementary next year, a move board member Liz Szilagy prefers to splitting up the kids among a couple of schools.
Repairs to Smith are estimated at $3.3 million dollars.
The school board will vote on a final recommendation to close Smith in two weeks.
