The Appleton school district is recognizing students going into teaching.
Appleton West Teacher Lauren Ott says about a dozen students from North, West, and East high schools are signing a pledge. She says once they get a degree in education, they’re guaranteed an interview in the district.
Ott says this year students in the district’s Intro to Teaching class could sign the agreement. She says next year they want to give other students a chance to sign it if they’re going to school for a teaching degree.
