Crews are fixing the roof of the Brown County Courthouse after it tarnished faster than expected.
The county spent about $1.7 million to renovate the copper dome about two years ago. Mildew got trapped underneath the sealant causing it to turn black.
Public Works Director Paul Fontecchio says the contractor reimbursed them about $70,000 to fix it.
Fontecchio expects crews will done with the work in a couple of weeks. He hopes the new sealant will last for a few years.
