A Republican lawmaker will have to hand over digital copies of his emails, instead of paper ones.
A state appeals court made the ruling today.
Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council President Bill Lueders filed a lawsuit against Rep. Scott Krug of Nekoosa.
Lueders believes the digital copies contain more information than printed copies, including metadata. Lueders says it’s an important victory for public access.
