There’s another delay in the case of a man charged with a double murder in Hobart.
The trial for 29-year-old Jacob Cayer was scheduled to start next Monday but his attorney is trying to keep the jury from hearing some statements and seeing certain evidence. A Brown County judge set another hearing on the issue for next Wednesday.
Cayer is charged with killing his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Sabrina Teague, and her mother, 63-year-old Heesun Teague, three years ago. Prosecutors say he broke into their Hobart home and stabbed them. Sabrina’s boyfriend survived.
The case was initially on hold for about a year after a judge ruled Cayer was incompetent to stand trial. He’s charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and one for attempted murder.
