Troops stormed the beaches of Normandy 75 years ago today and the EAA is unveiling a new gallery to mark the anniversary.
The museum exhibit is in the Eagle Hangar.
Spokesman Dick Knapinski says they have a World War II-era Jeep, artifacts, and pictures. He says after they announced the event, many people reached out to add items to the collection.
The EAA is also planning to commemorate D-Day during next month’s AirVenture. Knapinsky says many of the planes that are in France to take part in reenactments will be in Oshkosh.
