The bystander who was wounded in last month’s shooting at the downtown transit center in Appleton is out of a hospital.
30-year-old Brittany Schowalter was being treated at ThedaCare’s Neenah hospital. A spokeswoman couldn’t release any more information including when Schowalter was released. Investigators haven’t said where she was shot and how serious her injuries were.
Appleton firefighter Mitch Lundgaard was killed while on a medical call. Police say two officers fired at the suspect 47-year-old Ruben Houston of Wausau and he died at the scene.
Police Officer Paul Christensen was also shot and he was released from a hospital the next day.
