Some local police officers took part in a torch run to kick off the state’s Special Olympics summer games.
The event raises awareness and money for the organization. Neenah Officer Stu Zuehls says officers from around the Fox Cities handled parts of the course in Neenah. He says people from the community were out cheering them on and they appreciate the support.
The opening ceremony is tonight. About 1,400 athletes will compete in the games in Stevens Point.
