A new trail connection in Menasha is officially opening next week.
The extension of the Province Terrace Trail will become part of the larger Paper Trail in the Fox Cities.
City Parks and Recreation Director Brian Tungate says it starts at the corner of Highway 10-114 and Oneida Street and connects at Nature’s Way. He says the extension is beneficial to the city because it connects the east and west sides.
Tungate says people will be able to get to Heckrodt Wetland Reserve, Jefferson Park, and downtown Menasha while avoiding busy streets. About half of the trail is a boardwalk.
He says they’re doing a few finishing touches to the segment, but people are using it.
There’s a ribbon cutting ceremony set for Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Highway 10-114 and Oneida Street.
