The state Supreme Court’s ruling on last year’s lame duck laws means some of them are back in place.
A Dane County judge had blocked them earlier this year.
The most significant law that’s in effect again forces Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul to get permission from GOP lawmakers before settling lawsuits.
Majority Republicans stripped some of the powers from Governor Evers and Kaul, after the two were elected last fall.
The Supreme Court is directly taking up two challenges to those laws.
