A gas expert doesn’t believe the attack on two oil tankers in the Middle East overnight will impact gas prices.
Patrick DeHaan of GasBuddy says it’s a concern that something like that could happen. He believes this wouldn’t come close to offsetting the decline in oil prices over the past two months. He says oil prices in April were $66 a barrel. That’s compared to the price of $51 a barrel before the attacks.
Overall, oil prices are down close to $13 a barrel since April.
He says on average, gas in Wisconsin dropped by seven cents in the past week. He thinks they’ll likely go down another five to 10 cents a gallon over the next one to two weeks.
