Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is hopeful that Governor Evers won’t veto the entire state budget proposed by Republicans.
The Legislature’s budget committee finalized its version of the two-year plan yesterday.
Vos says vetoing the whole budget would be unprecedented. He says it’s a good plan, and he’s proud of everyone that worked together to put it together.
Majority Republicans rejected a number of the proposals from Governor Evers including an expansion of Medicaid coverage. They also scaled back his increases in education spending and the gas tax.
The Assembly and Senate will now take up the budget.
