A top Republican is confident lawmakers will pass the budget even with a pair of GOP senators saying they’ll vote “no.”
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos believes they’ll have near-unanimous support from the other members. He thinks the two lawmakers are frustrated with having a Democratic governor.
Senators David Craig of Big Bend and Steve Nass of Whitewater say there’s still too much spending in the Republican budget.
If another GOP senator opposes it there wouldn’t be enough votes to get the budget through the Senate.
