Some World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans from the Green Bay area will take part today in a free flight on a 1943 Stearman open cockpit biplane.
Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport director Marty Piette says it’s part of an eight city tour by the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation.
Piette says the two-seater will hold the pilot and veteran.
Piette believes it’s a great opportunity for people to see a unique plane.
He enjoys seeing the smiles from the veterans who can once again get into a plane they haven’t seen in 50 plus years.
Flights should run until 4 p.m. today.
