Republicans in the Legislature say the two year budget they passed funds priorities of the state including K-12 education, college and technical schools, health care, transportation, and tax relief.
Two Republicans voted against it saying it spends too much.
Sen. Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac agrees it does spend a lot of money, but feels the time is right. He says this is a good economic time and they are able to reinvest in the state and cut income taxes without raising any taxes.
Feyen calls the budget responsible that meets the needs of the people while still providing income tax relief.
Governor Evers has the budget and will decide whether to sign it, or veto all or some of it.
Feyen was a guest on Fresh Take this morning.
