A US Olympic star may be getting their start in Appleton this weekend.
USA Luge is holding its annual “slider search” Saturday and Sunday.
Development Director Gordy Scheer says the state is becoming a hotbed for luge. He says six members of the program are from Wisconsin.
Kids nine to thirteen will get a chance to steer street luges down the hills of East Broadway Drive starting at Ballard Road this weekend.
Scheer adds that 70 percent of the current USA Luge team members came from these slider searches.
