An expert says the cold and rainy spring is hurting some farmers.
Greg Bussler is with the National Ag Statistic Service. He says corn is about 20 days behind, and soybeans are about 17 days behind with 93 percent of the crop planted.
Bussler says it’s up to mother nature if the crops can recover. He says there’s a critical period at the end of July when corn pollinates. He says the frost can also affect how big of a harvest farmers will have.
