Green Bay police say there’s been another spike in car thefts during the first week of summer.
Lt. Ben Allen says the city has been dealing with the thefts for months. He says people are making it easy by leaving keys inside of unlocked vehicles. He says most thieves are only looking to steal items from the cars, but then find the keys and take the whole thing.
Allen says they’ve had nearly 70 thefts so far this year. That’s up about 23 percent from this time last year. He says people should always lock their cars.
