A group is checking costs for summer cookouts.
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation spokeswoman Sarah Hetke says they looked at different items this year, compared to last year, so they can’t tell if overall prices went up or down.
She says they bought 10 things including hot dogs, cheeseburgers, chips, lemonade, and watermelon. She says the total spent was $56.47, and that’s less than $6 a person for 10 people.
Hitke says they added ice cream to the list this year.
Of the items they can compare to last year, the price for pork spare ribs dropped by over $1, and ketchup went down by 18 cents.
