A lobbyist for public schools says the extra funding included in the budget by Governor Evers is a welcome move.
Dan Rossmiller with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards says the money has no strings attached. He says the money won’t require districts to increase property taxes, and schools can use the money for what they deem necessary.
Evers used his veto pen to add $87 million for per-pupils aids. He calls it “only a down payment” for what needs to happen in the next state budget.
