A government watchdog thinks we haven’t heard the end of the push back against gerrymandering in the state.
Matt Rothschild of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign says the latest Marquette poll shows people are fed up with the practice. He says it found about 63 percent of Republicans and 76 percent of Independents are against partisan drawn legislative districts.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that federal courts have no place in policing political district boundaries. That means citizens can’t sue to overturn them.
Rothschild thinks voters should pressure lawmakers to support bills to end gerrymandering.
